Court Procedures

After intake, assessment and if required, detoxification, participants formally enter the EDTCRC program by executing a Waiver and entering a guilty plea to their charges. A judicial interim release (bail) order is issued, with a variety of conditions. During the first 60 days, the participant may chose to withdraw from the program, in which case the guilty plea will be withdrawn on a consent basis, and the accused person may either return to normal docket court or request to re-plead (guilty) before the presiding DTC judge and proceed to sentencing.
